About the Role

Atlin is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Mechanical Engineers to support a major research and engineering program. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists, you will be responsible for the design, integration, testing and optimisation of complex experimental systems and equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on innovative engineering projects that support the development of future capabilities in a collaborative, high-technology environment.

Due to the nature of the opportunities, current Australian defence security clearance is essential (ideally NV1 of higher but candidates with Baseline clearance are also encouraged to register interest).

Responsibilities

• collaborate with technical leads and project stakeholders to understand engineering objectives and operational requirements;
• design, develop and integrate mechanical systems and components to support complex engineering and testing activities;
• contribute to the development and implementation of automated control and monitoring solutions;
• work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated technical solutions;
• support the installation, commissioning and optimisation of specialised engineering and laboratory equipment;
• conduct testing, fault finding and system validation to ensure performance and reliability;
• collect, analyse and interpret technical data to support engineering decisions and project outcomes; and

Qualifications

• Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline;

Required Skills

• demonstrated experience designing, developing, and integrating complex mechanical systems;
• experience with mechanical equipment, process systems, instrumentation or automated engineering environments;
• knowledge of testing, commissioning and system validation methodologies;
• strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
• ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams;
• excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the preparation of technical documentation;
• experience working with control systems, automation or data acquisition technologies (highly desirable);
• exposure to research, laboratory, testing or prototype development environments (desirable); and
