Maintenance Technician

Job DescriptionOverview A busy food production business based in West Dublin is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the addition of a Maintenance Technician. The site operates at pace, producing and packing food product at volume, and has built a strong reputation for quality and reliability within its sector. This is a hands-on opportunity for a maintenance professional to get stuck into a varied, fast-moving engineering role, with plenty of scope to make a real impact on plant performance.

Responsibilities Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults across a wide variety of site machinery. Keep automated and PLC-driven equipment running reliably through effective troubleshooting. Build and follow a structured preventative maintenance schedule to keep unplanned stoppages to a minimum.

Act as first point of contact for production when equipment issues arise, working fast to get lines back up and running. Get to the root of recurring problems rather than just patching over symptoms. Support line changeovers and setups, helping keep waste and downtime low.

Bring ideas to the table on how equipment and processes could run better. Keep on top of maintenance logs and reporting using the site's systems. Build strong working relationships across production, quality, and the wider engineering function.

Carry out all work to the standard expected in a regulated food environment, including hygiene and quality protocols. Criteria Trade background or formal qualification in an engineering discipline, or equivalent hands-on know-how. Background in food, FMCG, or another high-output production setting is a plus, though transferable skills from elsewhere will be considered.

Confident troubleshooter across mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems. Comfortable working on production and packaging machinery of various kinds. Exposure to structured maintenance approaches (planned maintenance, Lean, TPM) beneficial.
