Overview
HireStakes is hiring for a Algorithmic Trading Engineer based in Lisbon. Our client is a sports betting services company building and operating market making infrastructure across sports exchanges, acting as the middleman between liquidity providers and venues.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the market making engine and scale it across multiple exchanges
- Build and improve high-performance backend systems for real-time order management
- Handle high-frequency data flows and optimise for low latency
- Collaborate closely with the odds feed and betting API teams
Qualifications
- 0-3 years of backend development experience
- Strong SQL, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript skills — these are required
- Comfortable with Git and standard version control workflows
- Docker experience is a plus
- Background in finance or trading systems is a plus
- Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, GCP or similar) is a bonus
- Sports knowledge is a plus
