Role Description

The Event Manager role at StartupNews.fyi is a full-time, on-site position based in New Delhi. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events focused on the startup community, including meetups, panel discussions, conferences, and networking sessions.

Day-to-day tasks include developing event concepts, coordinating with venues and vendors, managing budgets and timelines, and overseeing logistics such as registrations, marketing, and on-ground operations. The Event Manager will collaborate closely with the editorial and social media teams to ensure events align with the brand’s mission and are promoted effectively across digital channels. The role also involves building and maintaining relationships with founders, investors, partners, and sponsors to enhance event quality and audience reach.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in event planning, coordination, and on-site execution for corporate, startup, or community-focused events.
• Strong skills in stakeholder management, including working with sponsors, partners, vendors, and speakers.
• Ability to manage event budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, with attention to detail and risk management.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft event communication, briefs, and promotional content.
• Experience collaborating with marketing or social media teams to drive event awareness and audience engagement.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with capacity to handle multiple events or projects simultaneously.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment, with adaptability and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience in the startup ecosystem or media/digital content environments is an advantage.

What you'll own:

• Event strategy & calendar — planning a recurring cadence of meetups, founder mixers, and flagship events across cities
• End-to-end execution — venue sourcing, vendor management, logistics, on-ground coordination
• Sponsorships & partnerships — working with brand partners to co-host or sponsor events
• Post-event reporting — attendance, engagement, ROI for sponsors/partners

What we're looking for:

• 2–4 years in event management, community building, or experiential marketing
• Proven ability to plan and execute events independently, from concept to wrap-up
• Strong network/relationship-building instincts — comfortable talking to founders, investors, and brands
• Willingness to travel across cities for on-ground execution
• Bonus: prior experience in startup ecosystem, media, or community platforms
