Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Data Center Global Services team is looking for a Controls Engineer for Construction (BMS/EPMS) to join our EMEA team. The role is responsible for the building automation systems within Amazon data centers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Ascertain customer needs to help develop project scope and specifications.
  • Manage scopes of work relative to the site specifics and customer needs.
  • Manage project engineering to determine the scope of work relative to the design intent of the customer needs.
  • Read and interpret specifications and implement them in the work environment.
  • Develop control panel BOMs.
  • Develop ISA data sheets for temperature, level, flow, and pressure transmitters, as well as for control valves, positioners, analytical and various instrument types.
  • Develop drawings for control panels, power distribution, junction boxes: general arrangement, internal layout, schematics, interconnection and wire diagrams.
  • Develop logic diagrams in the International Automation format for complex logic devices such as Programmable Logic Controllers and Distributed Control Systems.
  • Prepare cable routing plans and schedules.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and commissioning of the facility systems.
  • Provide technical assistance as needed to internal customers.
  • Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure on‑time completion of projects within budget.
  • Travel domestically and internationally to support other regions.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in vendor management.
  • Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
  • Experience in data center engineering or operations.Experience with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operating engineering license such as DC II, DC III, or equivalent.
  • Experience in construction or project management.
