Job Description
IT Business Analyst – Capital Markets Finance Technology
- Location: South Dublin (Hybrid – 3 Days On-Site)
- Contract Type: Daily Rate Contract
- Rate Range: €500 – €700 per day (Depending on experience)
- Duration: Initial 6-18 month contract
About the Role
We are seeking a delivery-focused IT Business Analyst to join a global development squad supporting a critical, tier-1 financial control application. This platform acts as the core global sub-ledger engine handling daily PnL production, ledger integrity, and financial control processing for a massive global trading ecosystem.
This platform supports over 500 active daily users worldwide. You will sit within a highly collaborative, distributed team of 11 across EMEA, APAC, and India, driving key funded 2026 platform upgrades and operational change initiatives.
This is an IT BA role, but it is purely business-focused. You do not need to be a technical expert in code or SQL database development. Instead, you will act as the vital functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) who bridges the gap between front-line global finance users and the core development squad.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Project Delivery: Take end-to-end ownership of the business analysis lifecycle within an Agile environment—optimizing the Jira project backlog, gathering requirements, and mapping workflows.
- Operational Productivity: Define functional requirements for workflow improvements, including capturing business specifications for new automation tools designed to resolve repetitive user queries.
- SME Translation: Collaborate closely with distributed engineering teams to translate complex financial control requirements into actionable development tasks, keeping the platform secure and compliant.
- Team Support & Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to other BAs within both the immediate project group and the wider finance technology division.
- Escalation Problem Solving: Adopt a hands-on approach to problem-solving, occasionally assisting the development team with complex, front-line support queries escalated from business users.
Requirements
- Capital Markets Expertise: Proven experience operating as a Business Analyst within a tier-1 global corporate or investment bank. A solid, functional understanding of Capital Markets products and trading environments is essential.
- Financial Control Competency: A strong grasp of financial accounting principles, standard financial reporting frameworks, and daily reconciliation or ledger-closing workflows.
- Full Lifecycle Execution: Demonstrated experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), carrying requirements from initial discovery through testing to final deployment.
- Delivery Tooling: Heavy hands-on experience using Jira or Azure DevOps to manage, refine, and prioritize backlogs and user stories.
- Communication: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to confidently interface with global line teams and distributed developer squads.
