The Truck Driver will be responsible for operating MC heavy vehicles to transport bulk commodities safely and efficiently throughout Western Australia. Drivers may undertake both local and long-haul transport assignments depending on operational requirements and customer schedules. The successful candidate will ensure freight is transported safely, vehicles are maintained in a roadworthy condition, and all transport activities comply with Heavy Vehicle National Law (where applicable), Main Roads WA requirements, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate MC heavy vehicles to transport bulk commodities, including grain, sand, salt, lithium, and mining products.
• Undertake local and long-haul transport operations in accordance with operational schedules.
• Conduct comprehensive pre-start, daily, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Load, transport, and unload bulk freight safely while complying with load restraint and transport requirements.
• Complete delivery documentation, logbooks, consignment notes, and transport records accurately.
• Monitor vehicle performance and promptly report mechanical faults, defects, incidents, or maintenance requirements.
• Plan and follow approved transport routes while adapting to changing operational requirements.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and ensure vehicles and trailers remain in good operating condition.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, operations staff, customers, and site personnel regarding delivery schedules and operational matters.
• Ensure freight is transported safely and delivered without contamination, loss, or damage.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures, safe manual handling practices, and environmental requirements.
• Assist with minor operational duties as required to support transport activities.
• Represent the company professionally during all customer interactions.

Qualification & experience

Essential

• Valid Australian MC (Multi Combination) Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of relevant full-time experience operating MC heavy vehicles in freight transport, bulk haulage, logistics, mining, or agricultural operations.
• Demonstrated ability to safely operate heavy combination vehicles under varying road and weather conditions.
• Knowledge of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL), Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, and load restraint requirements.
• Ability to complete transport documentation accurately, including logbooks and delivery records.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety and safe driving practices.
• Good communication, organisational, and time management skills.

Desirable

• Experience transporting bulk commodities such as grain, sand, salt, fertiliser, lithium, aggregates, or mining products.
• Experience with tipper combinations, road trains, or bulk haulage equipment.
• Knowledge of Western Australian regional and remote transport routes.
