Job Details

• Location: 10311 City Scape Drive NE Calgary, AB T3N 1E2
• Work location: On the road
• Salary: $36.50 hourly / 40 to 50 hours per week (Minimum wage guaranteed)
• Terms of employment: Permanent employment, full time

Qualifications

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel for extended periods and overnight

Experience

1 to less than 7 months

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre‑trip, en route and post‑trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Transport and handle dangerous goods
• Maintain log books that detail all repairs and checks performed
• Communicate with passengers, dispatchers or other drivers using two‑way radio systems

Transportation/Travel Experience

• Valid driver's licence
• Willing to travel for extended periods
• Willing to travel overnight

Security and Safety

• Basic security clearance
• Criminal record check
• Driving record check (abstract)
• Drug test
• Medical exam

Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee.
