Our Meat Division is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Group Accountant to join our finance team.

The Role
The Group Accountant is a critical role responsible for the end-to-end financial close and reporting processes for various entities. The role reports to the Meat Division CFO and manages multi-currency processing, trade finance reconciliation, and the preparation of monthly Profit & Loss and overspend reporting. You will also own the weekly sales, rebate and Production Management Meeting (PMM) reporting cycles, coordinate accounts payable workflows and provide support across fixed assets, balance sheets, and GST/FBT compliance.
Duties will include:
- Managing the end-to-end monthly financial close for various entities
- Prepare monthly P&L spreadsheets, cost centre reporting, and distribute overspend reports to management
- Perform multi-currency processing (USD, NZD, AED) and trade finance reconciliation
- Own weekly sales reporting, rebate processing (including major supermarket chains), and Production Management Meeting (PMM) presentation updates
- Coordinate accounts payable invoice coding via Traild (Accounts Payable software) across multiple cost centres
- Ensure GST and FBT compliance across all entities
- Collaborate with team members on farm, manufacturing and inventory reporting
- Provide ad-hoc financial support including fixed asset management, audit compliance and balance sheet reconciliations
What We Need from You
- Minimum 5 years work experience, preferably within the FMCG, manufacturing or similar industrial sector, and at the same level of seniority
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated experience with large ERP systems (Epicor preferred but not essential)
- Strong understanding of retail trade promotions, rebate accounting, manufacturing, and agribusiness cost structures
- Proven ability to manage high-volume data and meet strict working deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail and strong cross-functional communication skills within the leadership team, functional managers and peers
- A finance practitioner with strong entrepreneurial/commercial acumen
- Dynamic professional who would welcome change in the organisation
