Assistant Accountant | 6-Month Contract. Strong opportunity to transition into a permanent role and progress into an Accountant position as the business grows. Up to $95,000 + Super.

This broad Assistant Accountant role offers exposure to month-end reporting, inventory, fixed assets and process improvement while working closely with an experienced Finance Manager. You'll play a key role in supporting the business as it transitions into a larger corporate environment, with strong potential for the position to become permanent.
About the role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function during a period of change. This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who enjoys variety, partnering with operational teams and improving finance processes.
Duties
- Assist with month-end close activities
- Prepare journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain the fixed asset register
- Support inventory reporting and stocktake activities
- Assist with process mapping and SOP documentation
- Support budgeting, forecasting and ad hoc analysis
- Contribute to finance process improvements and integration projects
Skills & experience
- CA/CPA qualified or currently studying
- Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant or Financial Accountant
- Experience within manufacturing, inventory or stock-based environments highly regarded
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data
- Experience working across multiple sites or business units advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
