Energy engineer

Overview

In this position you will join our Energy business with a focus on supporting the decarbonisation of WA resource and utility energy systems. You will be part of a team of specialists that bring ideas to life for our clients across energy infrastructure—from developing connection assets for large-scale renewable power projects and energy storage to electrification of mining rail and fleet projects, and transmission and distribution projects. We aim to apply technical expertise to help economic development while delivering quality and timely advice.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on network planning and the connection of renewable power generation projects, energy storage projects, islanded grids and transmission level networks operation.
• Join one of the largest Australian communities of grid-scale renewable power generation and energy storage specialists; collaborate across the business and with clients to bring diverse skillsets and innovation to complex problems.
• Be responsive to client needs and provide planning advice to power generation assets operation and development with a focus on quality and timeliness.
• Lead the deployment of innovative projects in energy storage and inverter-based generation markets in an increasingly challenging technical environment.
• Apply your skills and creativity to projects in other geographies and markets as opportunities arise, working with diverse teams.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified with post-graduation experience in a transmission and distribution role, as a consultant or as a developer/owner/contractor.
• Experience with transmission or distribution assets at medium voltage level; alternatively, experience in rail electrification or mining fleet electrification.
• Experience with NWIS power systems and/or SWIS power systems is a plus.
• Previous consultancy experience including direct engagement with clients is advantageous. Site and practical experience are valued.
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to bring ideas to life and contribute to diverse projects.
