About the role
We are looking for a senior, proactive Business Analyst to join the Researcher Platform teams in SN Digital, a technology division of Springer Nature. You will work within a cross‑functional, agile delivery team that designs solutions to help researchers discover, read, and publish content.
Responsibilities

- Orchestrate collaboration within the team and externally with business stakeholders while balancing competing priorities.
- Communicate to the development team how the requirements align with business needs and the “big picture” goals using clear storytelling techniques.
- Collaborate and provide business analysis support to the product manager, business sponsors, SMEs and the team during development.
- Unearth the root cause(s) of pain points, and validate business opportunities and problems using data analytics and quantitative analysis.
- Prioritise competing demands and obtain buy‑in from stakeholders.
- Map, analyse and validate information flows within a complex organisational setting and contribute to process and system design improvements.
- Plan, organise and lead workshops that generate ideas and resolve problems.
- Champion business analysis best practices and principles within the BA community.
- Challenge and influence decisions, focusing on customer and business value.
- Monitor, track and communicate progress and issues relating to the project as a whole while applying project management practices.
- Capture information in teams Jira and ensure they are kept up to date.
Milestones
- Within 3 months: Strengthen team ceremonies, understand the team’s context, build relationships with key stakeholders, and co‑plan workshops.
- By 3‑6 months: Communicate priorities, monitor progress, prioritise demands, validate information flows, and contribute to post‑mortem reviews.
- By 6‑12 months: Onboard new team members, align scoped work with vision, contribute to system architecture, define KPIs, and instil a data‑driven approach.
Day‑to‑day activities
- Engage in and/or facilitate ceremonies such as stand‑ups, planning, prioritisation, steering sessions, story kick‑offs, workshops, showcases, and retrospectives.
- Work with varied stakeholders to understand, analyse and scope new work.
- Support teammates in problem‑solving activities to remove blockers and complete agreed‑upon work.
About You
- Quickly gain context of the product and user space within the broader programme landscape.
- Proactive, self‑driven, and able to pull information without being asked.
- Enjoy working in collaborative teams with shared responsibility for the product.
- Demonstrated experience delivering software in agile environments and facilitating groups to achieve defined goals.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate concepts from technical and functional perspectives.
- Proven experience managing and resolving stakeholder conflict.
- Data‑savvy decision maker who builds better products from available data.
- Committed to high‑quality customer experience and sustainable solutions.
- Analytical ability to solve complex problems and proactively identify pain points.
- Experience thriving in dynamic, collaborative environments.
- Creative, initiative‑driven and focused on moving the team forward.
- Background in continuous improvement and innovation across teams.
- Intellectually curious and motivated to seek deeper context.
