Senior Software Developer, Cyber Range

Our client is looking for a Senior Software Developer to join their Range Operations Team, where you’ll design and build the next generation of high-fidelity cyber range environments. This is an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies—including AI, LLMs, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and distributed systems—to create realistic simulations that help organizations prepare for real-world cyber threats.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop scalable microservices and distributed applications for cybersecurity simulations.
• Build custom tools and AI-powered solutions using LLMs and APIs to generate realistic user behavior and simulated cyber activity.
• Develop cloud service emulation, synthetic data pipelines, and enterprise traffic simulation.
• Lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and promote engineering best practices.
• Design reliable, observable, and fault‑tolerant systems using modern containerized architectures.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and cross‑functional teams to deliver innovative cybersecurity training solutions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture designs, and troubleshooting guides.

What we’re looking for

• 6+ years of professional software development experience building large‑scale distributed systems.
• Strong programming experience with Java, Kotlin, or Python.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs (REST, OAuth, SAML, HTTP/S).
• Hands‑on experience with AI/LLMs and API integrations for automation or intelligent applications.
• Experience deploying applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
• Experience working with virtualized or air‑gapped environments.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, VPCs, subnets, and secure connectivity.
• Experience within or alongside the cybersecurity industry is highly valued.
