Job Description
Overview As a Senior Business Analyst, you will act as a critical technical and functional anchor for the Hotel Vendor Replacement Program. You’ll bring extensive experience supporting technical software implementations across integrated environments, working closely with internal business units, agile development teams, and external vendor stakeholders. This hands‑on role demands robust analytical abilities, a comprehensive understanding of data workflows, and a proven history of translating abstract business needs into detailed technical specifications and reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the Program Manager and Sponsor to define clear project scopes, parameters, and baseline objectives. Gather, evaluate, and detail complex requirements by interfacing directly with subject matter experts to comprehend current‑state challenges. Support the Project Manager in maintaining active project plans, monitoring timeline progress, mitigating risks, and compiling regular summary reports.
Lead cross‑functional alignment calls across business and technology groups to actively clear delivery bottlenecks. Partner directly with agile development squads to ensure technical designs map cleanly to functional, working software solutions. Support application upgrades, systems integration testing, performance optimization, and other ad‑hoc operational deployment tasks.
Key Deliverables Map Existing Processes: Document and evaluate all functional workflows under the previous hotel vendor integration model. Map Future Processes: Architect and map optimized workflows under the new hotel vendor system implementation. Document Process Repository: Establish a structured configuration and process repository to reflect the new vendor operating model.
Business Requirements Document (BRD): Collect, refine, and translate core business requirements into precise technical design parameters. UAT/Testing Support: Build a documented process foundation to support the QA lead in formulating end‑to‑end test cases. Project Execution: Deliver continuous agile support covering system performance profiling, software upgrades, and application testing through to final execution.
Qualifications Minimum of five years of professional experience operating in a dedicated Business Analyst capacity managing technology projects and driving change management initiatives. Demonstrated ability to independently lead requirements‑gathering workshops with diverse groups, both in‑person and via remote collaboration tools. Proficient elicitation skills with a proven ability to capture intricate workflows from existing sparse documentation and staff interviews.
High computer literacy, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Project, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proven capability to handle competing business priorities while balancing stakeholder expectations under tight program deadlines. Nice‑to‑Have Requirements Formal professional certifications from the IIBA or a CAPM designation.
Previous experience in the airline sector considered an asset. Demonstrated knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, and practical experience in active Scrum or Kanban development environments. Genuine interest in corporate computer systems and emerging modern technologies.
Location & Workspace Strategy Position requires daily in‑office presence at the client’s Calgary campus to facilitate immediate collaboration with vendors and business SMEs. Hybrid flexibility may be considered as the project matures, pending successful progress toward technical documentation milestones. Employment Details Contract position in office in Calgary, operating on a standard 40‑hour work week.
