Project Manager – Aecon Utilities. Responsible for the successful execution of all assigned tasks, including proposals, ECI’s, EPC’s, and ongoing project management. What You'll Do Here Work with senior management in preparing detailed construction and design estimates and develop tender submissions for active pursuits.
Run project(s) with construction teams, including shift work on-site as required. Resolve project‑level issues and disputes and elevate them to the Sr. Project Manager.
Travel to various site locations as required. Set schedules and critical milestones. Set production targets, monitor performance, and eliminate roadblocks.
Manage team performance and monitor deliverables. Handle all commercial issues with a focus on win‑win outcomes. Negotiate contracts and resolve disputes.
Monitor project budget and conduct weekly scheduling meetings. Provide technical expertise and support to the project team and client. Ensure safe, efficient, high‑quality work processes.
Maintain project controls (schedule updates, subcontractor management, cost forecasting, change management, document control, labour monitoring, KPI tracking, equipment tracking, accrual management, invoicing, purchase orders). Perform other duties as required. What You Bring To The Team Education: Engineering, Construction Project Management, or related technical training.
Experience: minimum 8 years in a Project Manager role within the construction industry; experience on EPC contracts, transmission/substation projects, and the utility sector is a strong asset. Proactive, collaborative, and independent work style. Strong estimating and proposal skills.
Leadership, communication, negotiation, and dispute resolution skills. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and documents. Availability to travel between Kingston and Scarborough and shift work.
Computer proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project. Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work under pressure. Additional Information Reason for vacancy: New.
