PURPOSE OF ROLE The Lead, Microsoft Purview is responsible for implementing approved data protection and information governance policy requirements within Microsoft Purview. This role configures, maintains, monitors, and improves Purview capabilities across Microsoft 365 and related enterprise systems, including sensitivity labeling, data loss prevention, retention, eDiscovery, insider risk, and information protection controls. The role ensures Purview policies and controls are operating as intended, provides reporting on control performance and compliance activity, and supports operational readiness for legal, cybersecurity, compliance, and IT needs.
This position does not define stakeholder requirements; it translates approved requirements into durable Purview configurations, operational processes, and measurable reporting. Reporting Structure: You will report directly to a manager employed by Under Armour Global Services Pvt. Ltd. in India.
YOUR IMPACT (Job Responsibilities) Implement approved Microsoft Purview policy requirements across Microsoft 365 and connected systems, including sensitivity labels, data loss prevention, retention, eDiscovery, insider risk, and information protection controls. Translate documented policy decisions and control requirements into accurate Purview configurations, testing plans, deployment steps, and operational runbooks. Monitor Purview controls to confirm they are operating as intended, identify exceptions or gaps, and coordinate remediation activities through established IT and security processes.
Maintain operational reporting for Purview policy health, control effectiveness, incident trends, data classification activity, DLP events, retention activity, and other relevant governance metrics. Support audits, investigations, and compliance requests by producing accurate Purview data, evidence, and operational reporting in partnership with the appropriate accountable teams. Partner with platform, endpoint, identity, cybersecurity, and service management teams to ensure Purview controls are technically integrated, supportable, and aligned with enterprise operating standards.
Document configuration standards, change history, exceptions, known issues, and operational procedures to ensure continuity and repeatable execution. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree with typically 8 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with typically 6 yearsof relevant experience or typically 12 years of relevant work experience without degree. 8+ years of experience in Microsoft 365, information protection, compliance operations, cybersecurity operations, or enterprise collaboration platforms. Hands-on experience implementing and operating Microsoft Purview capabilities such as sensitivity labeling, data loss prevention, retention, eDiscovery, insider risk, information barriers, audit, and compliance reporting.
Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, identity concepts, endpoint management dependencies, collaboration platforms, and data governance operating practices. Ability to interpret approved policy and control requirements and convert them into scalable Purview configurations, operational procedures, and reporting outputs. Experience with change management, testing, documentation, exception management, operational monitoring, and service reporting.
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Compliance, Security, CISSP, CIPP, or CIPM are preferred. WORKPLACE LOCATION Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our office. Work Schedule: This role follows a hybrid work schedule, requiring 4 days in-office per week Licenses/Certifications: Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Compliance, Security, CISSP, CIPP, or CIPM preferred.
