Job title: Landing Gear Systems Engineer (V&V) Location: Bristol 3-4 days on site Scope This is a great opportunity, joining our existing project teams working and supporting our Landing Gear work packages. You will work with a consultative approach while building strong relationships with our customers as a team, communicating with stakeholders at a variety of seniority levels and provide a high standard of System Engineering. Role Evaluation of design solutions to meet current and future programme requirements, assessment of proposed design performance/risk and the selection of optimal solutions from both a technical and project/programme perspective Supporting Landing Gear System integration through maturation of system/sub-system interface documents Landing Gear system/sub-system Qualification and Certification (Q&C) activities to deliver future MAS and in-service modifications/repairs, including Qualification planning, oversight and evaluation of evidence Definition and oversight of Test and Evaluation (T&E) activities, including physical test and modelling/simulation campaigns in support to Landing Gear system/sub-system Compliance Verification.
Responsibilities Forensically assess T&E plans/procedures and improve/amend where required System and sub-system-level requirements management and generation of system/sub-system-level specifications for the Main and Nose Gear, Wheel, Tyre and Brake as required by the programme Project control activities, including the generation and maturation of project plans and schedules Co-ordination of internal/external stakeholders and monitoring the delivery of subcontracted work packages to ensure delivery to time, cost and quality Support to legacy military types as required, including the progression of: Operator Queries, LGS Defect Reports, Problem Investigations and Operational Occurrence Reports Interacting with multiple stakeholders and handling different technical Department interface with client- on site Bristol. Required Experience A basic awareness 5 years plus experience of Aircraft and Aircraft System Qualification and Certification. Development and study of different Landing gear systems (hydraulics/mechanical).
Ability to support the delivery of large complex projects on time with zero quality issues Experience in writing/creating technical specifications both at equipment as well as at system level. Aerospace environment background (VnV, Design, legislation) Required Skills Understanding of Full Systems Lifecycle Strong Verification & Validation knowledge Systems engineering expertise; particularly including Integration & verification testing LGS Qualification activities; selection of Qualification/test methodologies where appropriate and monitoring Equipment/Assembly-level physical test, modelling & simulation activities. DOORS/Polarian requirements traceability, requirements modelling, or requirements allocation Extensive knowledge in Aerospace quality and safety standards Required Education Aerospace or Engineering degree or relevant experience.
