Role Overview The SEO Strategist is responsible for developing and executing data-driven SEO strategies that improve organic visibility, search rankings, lead generation, and overall digital performance for clients. This role goes beyond traditional SEO by evaluating websites and digital assets from the perspective of potential customers, identifying opportunities for growth, and ensuring best practices are consistently followed across all online channels. The ideal candidate combines technical SEO expertise, content strategy, local search optimization, competitive analysis, and quality assurance while collaborating closely with Content, Development, Local SEO, Project Management, and Client Success teams to deliver measurable results.

Key Role & Responsibilities:- 1. SEO Strategy & Execution Develop customized SEO strategies based on client goals, market conditions, and competitive analysis. Create and maintain SEO roadmaps aligned with business objectives.

Monitor organic performance and continuously refine strategies to improve rankings and lead generation. Stay updated on Google algorithm changes, AI search trends, and emerging SEO best practices. 2. Customer Experience Audits Conduct comprehensive audits from the perspective of homeowners searching for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, garage door, roofing, and other home service providers.

Evaluate the complete customer journey from search results through website navigation and lead conversion. Identify usability issues, friction points, and opportunities to improve user experience and conversion rates. 3. Underperforming Account Audits Regularly review accounts that are not meeting performance expectations.

Analyze websites, local listings, technical SEO, content, and user experience to determine causes of underperformance. Develop prioritized action plans and collaborate with internal teams to improve results. 4. Website Quality & E-E-A-T Audits Review websites for missing content, outdated information, broken functionality, poor user experience, and conversion barriers.

Verify that service pages, calls-to-action, forms, navigation, contact information, and trust signals are complete and functioning correctly. Conduct comprehensive E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) evaluations by reviewing: Author and company credibility signals. Licenses, certifications, awards, testimonials, and customer reviews.

Business transparency and consistency across digital properties. Originality, expertise, and quality of published content. About Us, Team, and Service pages for authority-building opportunities.

Consistency between website information and Google Business Profile listings. Privacy policies, guarantees, warranties, and other trust-building elements. 5. Technical SEO Audits Perform comprehensive technical SEO audits covering: On-page optimization Metadata and title tags Schema markup Internal linking Crawlability and indexation XML sitemaps and robots.txt Site architecture Core Web Vitals and page performance Mobile optimization Duplicate content and canonicalization Coordinate implementation with developers and validate completed fixes. 6.

Google Business Profile (GBP) Optimization Audit and optimize Google Business Profiles for completeness and local search performance. Verify categories, services, descriptions, attributes, FAQs, photos, products, and business information. Ensure profiles follow local SEO best practices and accurately represent client businesses. 7.

Google Reviews & Reputation Management Evaluate review quality, response consistency, and engagement. Ensure review management best practices are followed. Verify that offers, updates, and posts are published regularly.

Recommend improvements to strengthen reputation and customer trust. 8. Keyword Research & Competitive Analysis Perform comprehensive keyword research for target markets and services. Analyze competitor rankings, content strategies, and search visibility.

Identify keyword gaps and opportunities for optimization. Validate search intent and prioritize high-impact opportunities. 9. Search Visibility & Performance Monitoring Monitor rankings, traffic, conversions, impressions, click-through rates, and user behavior.

Analyze performance using Google Search Console, GA4, and third-party SEO tools. Recommend ongoing improvements based on data and trends. 10. Redirect & Technical Validation Verify proper redirect implementation after website launches or migrations.

Identify broken links, redirect chains, 404 errors, and indexing issues. Work with development teams to resolve technical problems and validate fixes. 11. Content Strategy & Optimization Collaborate with Content teams to create SEO-driven content strategies.

Optimize existing content for search intent, readability, and conversions. Ensure content aligns with topical authority and semantic SEO principles. Support Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) initiatives for AI-powered search experiences. 12.

Reporting & Accountability Produce detailed SEO audits and performance reports outlining findings, priorities, recommendations, and expected outcomes. Assign action items to appropriate team members and monitor progress. Track implementation timelines and follow up until recommendations are completed.

Escalate delays or critical issues when necessary. 13. Cross-Department Collaboration Work closely with Development, Content, Local SEO, Project Management, Design, and Client Success teams. Participate in planning sessions and strategy meetings to ensure seamless execution.

Share insights that improve overall campaign quality and client outcomes. 14. Training & Professional Development Participate in ongoing mentorship and training programs. Continuously expand expertise in SEO, AI search, local search, content strategy, technical optimization, and digital marketing best practices.

Share knowledge and best practices with internal teams to improve organizational performance. Escalate high-priority issues that may negatively impact rankings, lead generation, or customer experience. Provide regular updates on campaign performance, completed audits, implementation progress, and strategic initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications 3โ€“5+ years of experience in SEO strategy and execution. Strong understanding of technical SEO, local SEO, and content optimization. Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Google Business Profile, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, BrightLocal, and similar tools.

Knowledge of schema markup, Core Web Vitals, indexing, and crawl optimization. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities. Familiarity with AI search trends, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and evolving search technologies is highly preferred. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Growth in organic traffic and qualified leads.

Improvement in keyword rankings and search visibility. Timely completion of SEO audits and strategic initiatives. Reduction in technical SEO issues and website errors.

Improvement in Google Business Profile optimization scores. Percentage of recommendations implemented by agreed deadlines. Growth in local search performance and conversions.

Improvement in website quality, E-E-A-T compliance, and user experience metrics. Effectiveness of collaboration across internal departments. Client retention and overall campaign performance improvements.
