Head of Clinical Development – Biotech Startup Salary: $350,000 – $425,000 per year. About the Company We are a small biotech located in the greater Boston area. We are hiring a clinical development lead with a strong background in Ophthalmology or Dermatology, and we ideally want someone with strong Phase II experience.

The individual will manage, plan, and execute clinical development programs in dermatology, immunology, or ophthalmology.

Responsibilities Lead the planning, implementation, and management of clinical development programs, ensuring compliance with GCP. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align programs with company objectives. Develop and maintain relationships with clinical investigators and key opinion leaders in dermatology and ophthalmology.

Guide and oversee the preparation and submission of regulatory documents (INDs, NDAs, BLAs) to FDA and other authorities. Utilize knowledge of RNAi technology to drive development of clinical programs. Monitor clinical trials to ensure data quality and integrity, identify and address issues or deviations.

Collaborate with the medical writing team to prepare study reports, publications, and presentations. Stay abreast of latest developments in scientific industry, especially dermatology and ophthalmology. Qualifications MD or equivalent with specialization in dermatology, immunology, or ophthalmology, including strong Phase II experience.

Minimum 3 years clinical development experience in biotech/pharma, preferably in startup environments. Extensive knowledge of GCP, FDA regulations, and the BLA process. Familiarity with RNAi technology and its application in clinical development.

Proven track record of successful clinical program management and execution. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Ability to work in fast‑paced, dynamic startup environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure. Willingness to stay updated on latest trends, particularly dermatology and ophthalmology.
