Your role and responsibilities We are seeking an experienced Technical Engineer to provide advanced technical support for the IBM products. In this role, you will act as the highest escalation point for complex product issues, working closely with development, system programmers, and customer technical teams to diagnose, analyse and resolve challenging problems in production and test environments.

This position requires deep technical expertise in z/OS internals, strong diagnostic capabilities, and proficiency across low‑level languages used in mainframe product development. Serve as the L3 technical support escalation point for complex customer‑reported issues on z/OS middleware products. Perform advanced problem determination using tools such as z/OS dumps, IPCS, traces, logs, and diagnostic utilities.

Debug product code written in C, C++, PL/X, and IBM High Level Assembler. Collaborate with development teams to reproduce defects, validate fixes, and create code patches where appropriate. Analyze system abends, performance issues, storage violations, and resource contention situations.

Provide technical guidance to Level 1 and Level 2 support teams. Work with customers to gather diagnostic data and provide clear and timely updates. Contribute to product documentation, technical guides, and internal knowledge bases.

Participate in on‑call rotations (if applicable). Required technical and professional expertise Strong experience with IBM z/OS operating system internals and middleware concepts. Proficiency in: C, C++, PL/X, IBM High Level Assembler (HLASM).

Ability to interpret and analyze system dumps, SVC dumps, IPCS reports and diagnostic traces and logs. Understanding of z/OS subsystems such as JES2/JES3, VTAM, RACF, WLM, USS. Experience working with z/OS debugging and profiling tools.

Excellent analytical and debugging skills with a methodical approach. Strong written communication skills, ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Preferred technical and professional experience Experience with IBM mainframe middleware (CICS, MQ, DB2, IMS, etc.).
