Year 5 Teacher

Role Description

The Year 5 Teacher is a part-time, on-site role based at Dale Christian College in Wungong, WA. The teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons aligned with the Year 5 curriculum, across core learning areas such as English, Mathematics, Humanities, Science, and Health. Day-to-day tasks include preparing differentiated learning activities, managing classroom behavior, monitoring student progress, maintaining accurate records, and providing constructive feedback to students and families.

The teacher collaborates with colleagues on curriculum planning, participates in staff meetings and professional learning, and contributes to school events and pastoral care initiatives. The role also involves upholding the College’s Christian values, promoting a safe and inclusive classroom, and supporting the social and emotional development of students.

Qualifications

• Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., Bachelor of Education or equivalent) and eligibility for teacher registration in Western Australia.
• Demonstrated experience teaching upper primary students, preferably Year 5, with strong curriculum planning and classroom management skills.
• Ability to design differentiated learning activities, assess student progress, and use data to inform teaching practice.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment that reflects Christian values and the College’s ethos.
• Competence in using educational technologies and digital tools to enhance teaching, learning, and reporting.
• Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to collaborative planning and whole-school initiatives.
• Current Working With Children Check and other relevant clearances as required by local regulations.
