Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Workshop Manager role based in Leicester.

The Workshop Manager will oversee day‑to‑day workshop operations, including planning and prioritizing jobs, allocating tasks to technicians, and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to quality standards. Responsibilities include supervising the assembly, repair, and maintenance of conveyor belts and components, coordinating with the sales and projects teams to schedule work, and managing workshop resources, tools, and inventory. The role also involves mentoring and supporting workshop team members, monitoring compliance with health and safety procedures, and maintaining accurate records of jobs, materials, and equipment.

The Workshop Manager will identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce downtime, and enhance overall efficiency in the workshop. Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on experience with industrial equipment, ideally including conveyor systems or related material handling machinery. Proven experience in workshop supervision, team leadership, or management in an engineering, fabrication, or maintenance environment.

Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices in a workshop or industrial setting, with a commitment to safe working methods. Effective planning, scheduling, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines simultaneously. Competence in basic IT tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, job management systems) for scheduling, reporting, and record‑keeping.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and occasionally customers. Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, maintenance, fabrication, or a similar field; additional certifications in safety or supervisory skills are an advantage. Ability to work on‑site full‑time in Leicester and to perform physically active tasks when needed, such as assisting with equipment handling and inspections. #J-18808-Ljbffr
