Job Opportunity - Wire Harness Engineer - Automotive Location: Sunnyvale, CA Duration : Full Time Overview: We are seeking an experienced contractor to lead the design, development, validation, and scaling of spider harnesses used to integrate autonomy compute, networking, and sensor systems across multiple vehicle platforms. This is a highly hands-on role spanning the full harness lifecycle—from concept and prototype through production-ready design. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop complex automotive wiring harnesses for autonomy systems Create detailed 2D drawings, schematics, and documentation packages Build and support first-article prototypes and iterative design improvements Define and execute validation plans, including DVP&R testing Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, electrical, and systems teams Ensure designs meet vehicle power architecture and signal integrity requirements Support transition from prototype to scalable, production-ready solutions Required Qualifications: 5+ years of experience in automotive harness design Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and power distribution Experience with autonomy-related signals (e.g., sensors, compute, networking) Hands-on experience with harness build, routing, and troubleshooting Familiarity with validation processes and environmental testing Ability to contribute independently with minimal onboarding Preferred Qualifications: Experience in low-volume to high-volume production transitions Familiarity with industry tools (e.g., Capital, Zuken, or similar) Prior work in autonomous vehicle or advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS)
