About Position: We are seeking a skilled Windows & Linux System Engineer with 7+ years of experience to manage and maintain enterprise infrastructure across Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) environments. The role focuses on ensuring system stability, security, and compliance through effective patch management, OS hardening, and proactive monitoring. The ideal candidate will support critical production systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive automation and operational excellence across development, test, and production environments.
Role: Windows Linux System Engineer Location: All Persistent Location Experience: 7+ years Job Type: Full Time Employment What You'll Do: Administer and support Windows Server and Linux (RHEL) environments across development, test, and production. Plan and execute OS patching cycles, vulnerability remediation, and compliance reporting. Manage core services such as AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO (Windows) and system services, user management, and file permissions (Linux).
Troubleshoot OS, performance, and availability issues; perform RCA and preventive actions. Support virtualization and backup/DR operations in coordination with infra teams. Implement OS hardening baselines and security best practices.
Create SOPs/runbooks and maintain system documentation. Coordinate with application teams for deployments, maintenance windows, and incident resolution. Expertise You'll Bring: 7+ years of experience in system administration for Windows Server and Linux (RHEL).
Strong patching expertise (WSUS/SCCM/3rd party for Windows; yum/dnf/repos for Linux) and change management. Working knowledge of shell scripting (bash) and PowerShell for automation and operational tasks. Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios/Zabbix/SCOM/Prometheus or equivalents) and log analysis.
Basic understanding of networking concepts and security hardening. Preferred: Exposure to cloud (AWS/Azure), configuration management (Ansible), and containers (Docker/K8s fundamentals). Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science/IT or equivalent practical experience.
