Job Title: Windchill Developer

Experience: 5+ Years

Locations: Mumbai / Bangalore / Chennai

Work Mode: Hybrid

Employment Type: Subcontract - Initial 6 Months

Shift: No Fixed Shift

Time Zone: Candidates must be flexible to work in the European time zone as required.


Project & Employment Structure

This is an initial 6-month subcontract engagement. Based on individual performance, business requirements, and client approval, there may be an opportunity for the candidate to transition to a long-term role with the client.

Candidates should be comfortable with the initial 6-month contractual engagement.


About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Windchill Developer with 5+ years of hands-on experience in PTC Windchill development, customization, configuration, and enterprise integrations.

The candidate should have strong expertise in Windchill architecture, Java/J2EE, JSP, Windchill APIs, SQL, workflows, lifecycles, OIR, access controls, and integrations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain PTC Windchill PLM solutions.
  • Develop Windchill customizations using Java, JSP, J2EE, Servlets, and Windchill APIs.
  • Configure and maintain workflows, lifecycles, OIR, soft types, access controls, and type/attribute management.
  • Develop custom UI components, actions, validators, listeners, and data utilities.
  • Work with Info*Engine, Query Builder, reports, and Windchill customization frameworks.
  • Develop and support integrations between Windchill and ERP, SAP, CAD, and third-party enterprise applications.
  • Implement and support REST/SOAP web-service integrations.
  • Create and maintain SQL queries and support database/data migration activities.
  • Perform debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root-cause analysis.
  • Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams, developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  • Follow coding, security, development, and deployment best practices.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on PTC Windchill development experience.
  • Strong understanding of Windchill architecture and customization.

# Strong expertise in:

  • Java
  • J2EE
  • JSP
  • Servlets
  • Object-Oriented Programming
  • Hands-on experience with Windchill APIs, customization framework, and extension development.
  • Strong experience with Windchill workflows, lifecycles, OIR, soft types, access control, and type/attribute management.
  • Experience with Info*Engine, Query Builder, and Windchill reports.
  • Strong SQL knowledge with Oracle and/or SQL Server.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP web services and system integrations.
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.
  • Understanding of build and deployment processes.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

# Experience with:

  • Windchill PDMLink
  • Windchill ProjectLink
  • Windchill MPMLink

# Knowledge of CAD integrations, including:

  • Creo
  • AutoCAD
  • SolidWorks
  • ThingWorx integration experience is an added advantage.
  • Experience with Windchill upgrade and migration projects.
  • Familiarity with Agile / Scrum methodologies.
  • Exposure to cloud deployments and DevOps practices.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale PLM implementations.


Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate should be a strong hands-on Windchill technical professional who can independently work on Windchill customization, configuration, integration, troubleshooting, and production support.

Candidates should have strong Java/J2EE development skills and a solid understanding of Windchill architecture and PLM processes.
