Wells Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Wells Analyst in Calgary. This role is responsible for supporting the full well lifecycle, ensuring regulatory compliance and timely reporting from well licensing and drilling operations through to abandonment, reclamation, and final closure activities. This position is ideal for a detail‑oriented professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, can manage multiple deadlines simultaneously, and has strong knowledge of well reporting and regulatory requirements in Western Canada, particularly Alberta and Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and submit well licensing applications and amendments while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and project timelines.
• Prepare and submit drilling, completion, frac, logging, abandonment, reclamation, and well testing information to regulatory bodies in the required formats.
• Maintain accurate well lifecycle data and manage key well events, status changes, and updates within corporate systems.
• Support well start‑ups, suspensions, reactivations, and other regulatory status changes.
• Manage well files throughout their lifecycle, ensuring accurate documentation and information management.
• Record and track abandonment and reclamation activities, including receipt and processing of reclamation certificates.
• Coordinate the exchange of downhole information with partners and ensure contractual reporting obligations are met.
• Work closely with asset teams, operations, drilling & completions, land, and regulatory stakeholders to support project execution and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

• 7–10 years of experience in Well Asset Management, Well Reporting, Well Technician, Drilling & Completions Technician, or related roles.
• Certification in Petroleum Land Administration or relevant technical training is preferred.
• Strong understanding of well lifecycle management and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Experience interpreting and analyzing downhole information and preparing regulatory submissions.
• Working knowledge of well licensing processes is considered an asset.
• Experience with wells in Alberta and Saskatchewan is required; exposure to additional Western Canadian jurisdictions is beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
