About The Role

This position will assist the team in the safe operation of waste collection vehicles and the delivery of an effective waste collection service to customers across the Townsville region.

Key responsibilities include collecting waste, managing spillages, undertaking minor waste bin repairs where required, and returning to allocated collection areas to service missed bins. The successful applicant will ensure all bins within the allocated collection area are serviced, identify and label non-compliant bins, and maintain a high standard of customer service.

The role also involves cleaning and performing routine maintenance on allocated plant and equipment, while promptly reporting faults, breakdowns and accident damage to ensure safe and efficient operations.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will hold a current HR Class Driver Licence and have experience in waste collection operations. You will be able to read, understand and complete written reports and records as required by established reporting systems.

You will have experience operating a range of waste collection vehicles and equipment, along with knowledge of plant servicing, pre-start inspections and shutdown procedures for trucks and associated machinery. A basic understanding of the environmental requirements associated.
