Warehouse Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to join our busy steel distribution operation at Smeaton Grange. Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play an important role in coordinating the day-to-day warehouse and distribution activities, ensuring orders are picked, packed and loaded correctly and deliveries are organised and dispatched on time. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who understands warehouse operations, enjoys working with a team and can keep the shop floor running efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Operations Manager with the daily planning and coordination of warehouse operations
• Organise and coordinate daily truck runs and deliveries
• Coordinate picking and packing of customer orders
• Ensure trucks are loaded safely, correctly and efficiently
• Check orders and materials prior to dispatch
• Coordinate the warehouse and shop floor team throughout the day
• Allocate daily tasks and monitor staff productivity
• Assist with managing incoming and outgoing stock
• Maintain good housekeeping and organisation across the warehouse and yard
• Ensure safe work practices and company procedures are followed

About you

• Experienced in warehouse supervision or distribution
• Ideally has steel distribution or steel industry experience
• Confident coordinating a team and allocating daily work
• Organised and able to prioritise multiple tasks
• Hands-on and willing to get involved on the warehouse floor
• Able to work under pressure in a busy environment
• Safety-conscious with a strong understanding of warehouse safety
• Reliable, punctual and professional
• A good communicator with a practical, problem-solving approach
• Forklift licence and HC Truck Licence is highly desirable
