About the role
Wallace International is seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Operator to join our team at our Tullamarine, VIC facility. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic warehousing and distribution operation. As a Warehouse Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods through our facility, contributing directly to our operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
This role is essential to maintaining our high standards of service in the warehousing, storage and distribution sector.
Key responsibilities
- Receiving, checking and processing incoming goods and shipments according to warehouse procedures
- Accurately picking, packing and labelling items for dispatch to customers
- Operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting stock counts to ensure system accuracy
- Organising and storing goods in designated locations to optimise space and accessibility
- Loading and unloading vehicles whilst adhering to health and safety protocols
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment throughout the warehouse
- Identifying and reporting damaged goods, discrepancies or operational issues promptly
- Following all company policies, procedures and safety regulations to ensure a secure workplace
- Collaborating with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational targets
What we're looking for
- Proven experience working in a warehouse, distribution centre or similar logistics environment
- Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, and other material handling devices
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process and organise inventory
- Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, carrying and moving goods
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet operational deadlines
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety in the workplace
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems (preferred)
- Current or willingness to obtain relevant forklift certification or material handling qualifications
