Warehouse Operator

At Gelato Messina, we make the best gelato, chocolate and patisserie you can get your hands on — and behind every scoop is a warehouse team that keeps the whole operation moving. We're growing, and we're looking for a capable Warehouse Operator to join the crew at our Marrickville headquarters.

This is a hands-on role at the heart of the business: receiving raw materials, supplying production, and picking, packing and dispatching orders out to our gelato stores across Australia. It's fast-paced and no two work days are the same.

What you'll be doing

• Receiving & storing: accept and inspect incoming raw materials and packaging, check deliveries against POs, record batch codes and expiry dates, and put stock away in the right locations
• Picking & packing: pick and pack store orders across ambient, chilled and frozen product, sequenced to store needs, and verify pallet quantities and accuracy before dispatch
• Dispatch: get orders out the door safely and on time, make sure stores have their paperwork and flag any stock shortages clearly
• Supplying production: stage and deliver raw materials to production against the daily plan, retrieve finished goods and reconcile any returns
• Inventory accuracy: keep stock levels current in our system (Unleashed), support cycle counts and stock takes, and help investigate and resolve any variances
• Keeping it tight: operate the forklift safely, maintain FIFO and batch traceability, and keep the cool room, freezer, loading docks and warehouse organised, safe and running smoothly

What we're looking for

• A current, valid forklift licence — this is essential
• Strong warehouse or logistics experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working across chilled and frozen areas (cool room and freezer) and able to lift up to 20kg
• Experience with manual and electric pallet jacks
• A sharp eye for detail — batch codes, FIFO and accurate stock records matter here
• Confident with inventory systems; experience is a bonus
• Full Australian work rights
• Reliable, a strong team player and someone who brings a bit of good humour to the day
