Warehouse Associate

DHL Express currently has an opening for a Part Time Warehouse position in our Halifax, NS location.

Shift: Monday to Friday 6am–11am
Wage: $20.72/hour and will increase as per the CBA

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned deliveries and pick-ups and/or other tasks assigned by supervisor
• Vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Scan freight as per agreed procedures
• Organize and sort all freight to appropriate routes
• Move freight within the warehouse area as per requirements
• Accurately sort and process, by deadlines, in-bound material
• Assist Tracing Department with thorough warehouse checks for missorts, on-hands, etc.
• Participate in the organization and clean-up of the warehouse area
• Participate in maintaining a safe and co-operative work environment
• Perform Front Counter Duties
• Perform HIC duties
• Perform accurate reporting
• Other warehouse duties as assigned by the shift supervisor

Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry parcels, up to and including 70 lbs per piece, throughout shift
• Forklift certificate
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and on-time within tight time constraints
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Meet security requirements
• Broad general working knowledge of warehouse functions
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the DHL operations system
• High School Diploma
• Ability to obtain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) as per Transport Canada guidelines
• Valid Class 5 driver's licence

All applicants are required to pass interviews, a criminal check for all countries lived in for the past 5 years and other background checks in order to qualify for the position.

High School Diploma required. Valid Class 5 driver's licence and forklift certificate required. Must be able to obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) as per Transport Canada guidelines. Must meet security requirements including criminal background check.
