Job Description

Contribute to and lead the implementation of the Finance strategy for the sector to ensure both short‑term and long‑term financial health. Collaborate with and provide guidance to the management team, influencing strategic direction in alignment with sector strategy, financial policies, legal frameworks and accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct individuals within the assigned sector, overseeing multiple finance disciplines while managing and controlling all functional activities within the sector.
  • Contribute to the development of the Finance strategy for the sector, encompassing all financial management services, planning, analysis, reporting and budgeting, while considering sector strategy, financial policies, legal frameworks and accounting standards.
  • Develop short‑ to mid‑term financial plans; organise and oversee the delivery and quality of financial initiatives and services related to multiple Finance Job Families (e.g., a combination of RTR, PTP and Controlling activities) to achieve financial transparency and maintain the sector’s financial health. Collaborate with and provide insights to the management team to influence strategic direction.
  • Provide financial management and controlling services to specific business areas of varying scale and complexity across multiple countries.
  • Direct and manage corporate financial matters, including securing cash for investments.
  • Lead and resolve complex financial initiatives and issues, leveraging internal and external specialist expertise as needed (e.g., business strategy, future acquisitions).
  • Anticipate evolving needs and trends across diverse markets and countries.
  • Drive innovation in existing financial processes, systems and methods to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Develop finance solutions that reflect best practices and operate across multiple business areas, functions, countries or clusters.
  • Negotiate important agreements and contracts with other departments and external partners.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders across DHL and partner organisations.
  • Influence stakeholders internally and externally as a recognised thought leader representing the Group.
  • Foster cooperation and partnership to deliver integrated solutions to challenges.
  • Lead diverse teams, including executives, directors/senior managers and managers.
  • Ensure inclusive talent selection, organisational structure and leadership for key areas of the organisation.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, finance or accounting or equivalent 4 years work experience, required.
  • CPA, preferred.
  • 11 years of demonstrated success in financial management, required.
  • Proven customer relationship and commercial negotiation skills, required.
  • A track record of strategic leadership, required.
  • Experience in the logistics industry (captive or third‑party), preferred.
