Job Description
The Association for Learning and Mentoring Services (ALMS) is recruiting caring volunteers ages 55 to support seniors, families, and neighbors through our food, wellness, and companionship programs in: West Harlem (Upper Manhattan), Rockland County (NY), Hudson County (NJ), Essex County (NJ), Queens (NY), and Passaic County (NJ). Through our AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP program, adults 55 and older can serve in flexible, meaningful roles with strong support and training. Some remote/at-home opportunities are available.
Volunteer roles include: Packing and distributing food at community pantries Delivering groceries and meals to homebound seniors Providing friendly check-in calls and virtual visits Helping host community workshops on estate planning, wills, health and wellness, and other senior-focused topics Supporting outreach, simple data entry, and phone calls from home Assisting with social activities and senior events at ALMS and partner sites You choose your schedule, and we match you with a role and location that fit your interests and comfort level (in-person or remote).
