WHAT YOU WILL DO:

\n

Lead the technical operation, maintenance, and optimization of event production facilities, control rooms, and broadcast systems for a global pharmaceutical and biotechnology client. Responsible for ensuring the reliability and readiness of live event technologies, managing troubleshooting and preventative maintenance, supporting onsite, hybrid, and virtual event production, partnering with stakeholders on technical strategies, and mentoring technical teams while driving engineering best practices and operational standards.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Technical Management:

\n
    \n
  • Lead the technical support, maintenance, and operational readiness of production facilities, control rooms, and event technologies.
  • \n
  • Manage troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, system optimization, and technical escalations.
  • \n
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, SLAs, and best practices while driving continuous improvement and technology upgrades.
  • \n
\n

Technical Events:

\n
    \n
  • Support the setup, configuration, testing, and operation of live, hybrid, virtual, and broadcast event systems.
  • \n
  • Manage signal routing, streaming, encoding, AV systems, communications platforms, and network integrations.
  • \n
  • Provide real-time event support, quality control, troubleshooting, and backup/failover strategies to ensure seamless productions.
  • \n
\n

Team & Operational Collaboration:

\n
    \n
  • Mentor technical staff, share best practices, and support training initiatives.
  • \n
  • Collaborate with production managers, event teams, vendors, and stakeholders on technical planning and event delivery.
  • \n
  • Assist with resource planning, operational reviews, and the development of scalable engineering standards across locations.
  • \n
\n

Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:

\n
    \n
  • Fluent in English and German.
  • \n
  • 7+ years of experience in event production, broadcast engineering, AV support, video production, live streaming, or related technical environments, including 3+ years supporting onsite, virtual, and hybrid events.
  • \n
  • Strong expertise in broadcast systems, technical troubleshooting, AV signal flow, production technologies, and live event support.
  • \n
  • Hands-on experience with video switchers, audio consoles, graphics/playback systems, and streaming/encoding platforms.
  • \n
  • Solid understanding of IP networking, media transport, streaming protocols (RTMP, SRT, NDI, SIP, WebRTC), and network-based production systems.
  • \n
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other virtual event platforms.
  • \n
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to perform under pressure in fast-paced production environments.
  • \n
  • Proven customer-focused approach, stakeholder management skills, and ability to drive operational improvements.
  • \n
\n

Nice-to-Have Skills:

\n
    \n
  • Experience with Ross, Blackmagic, TriCaster, vMix, or similar production platforms.
  • \n
  • Knowledge of Yamaha, Dante, Shure, intercom systems, and streaming/encoding technologies.
  • \n
  • Familiarity with KVM systems, production networking, remote management tools, and broadcast infrastructure design.
  • \n
  • Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software.
  • \n
  • Degree in Broadcast Engineering, Video Production, Communications Technology, or a related field.
  • \n
\n

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

\n
    \n
  • Travel is required based on requirements and location of productions and service needs including meetings at client offices and AVI-SPL offices.
  • \n
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
  • \n
  • Ability to climb ladders and perform overhead work.
  • \n
