Vice President Clinical Development Ophthalmology Location: Greater Boston area. We are a small biotech located in the greater Boston area. We are hiring a VP of Clinical Development with a strong background in Ophthalmology or Dermatology, and we ideally want someone with strong Phase II experience.
Salary: $350,000 - $400,000 per year. Benefits Competitive compensation Stock options Flexible schedule Established team with strong funding Opportunity for growth Job Details The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the clinical development of our therapeutics in the field of ophthalmology. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical development.
Responsibilities Lead and manage the clinical development team in the design, execution, and interpretation of clinical studies. Develop and implement clinical development plans for ophthalmic products, ensuring alignment with business objectives. Maintain a thorough understanding of FDA regulations, GCP, and BLA processes, and ensure all clinical activities are compliant.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, and medical affairs to ensure a holistic approach to product development. Direct the preparation of clinical portions of regulatory submissions, including IND applications, NDAs, and BLAs. Oversee the selection and management of CROs and other external vendors.
Present clinical development plans, study results, and project updates to senior management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. Keep abreast of emerging models in healthcare delivery; identify and define new and innovative strategies to achieve business goals and objectives. Qualifications MD, DO, or equivalent degree with a specialty in Ophthalmology would be ideal.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical development within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry. Proven experience with FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and Biologics License Applications (BLA). Strong knowledge of clinical trial design, implementation, and data interpretation.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts to a variety of audiences. Proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
