Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Sales for our client in Calgary! The VP of Sales is responsible for driving revenue growth, optimizing pricing strategy, and managing customer acquisition across all segments, with a focus on margin, not just volume. The successful candidate will be able to evaluate, mitigate, and reverse competitive disadvantage in a crowded market, have in-depth knowledge of the Energy Marketer, Marketing Associate, and self-retail programs and work with the development team to identify and close the gaps in the sales funnel!

Primary Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Create annual, quarterly, and monthly sales plans
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and emerging markets
  • Oversee all marketing campaigns to increase sales and reduce churn
  • Monitor competitive pricing / activities and provide strategies to mitigate competitive advantages
  • Provide monthly updates on marketing and sales strategies with leadership team. Including: volume vs margin & fixed vs floating pricing strategies.

Pricing Strategy & Competitive Intelligence

  • Lead the organization’s pricing strategy to remain competitive while maximizing margins
  • Monitor competitor pricing and promotional activities
  • Collaborate with Finance to evaluate margin impacts
  • Evaluate promotional effectiveness and return on investment

Channel Management

  • Lead all customer acquisition channels to maximize performance and market penetration
  • Manage the Energy Marketer (EM) network
  • Oversee direct sales channels
  • Optimize commission structures and evaluate channel profitability
  • Work with the Chief Technology Officer to improve UX / systems

Marketing Leadership

  • Develop integrated sales and marketing campaigns
  • Improve brand awareness across Alberta
  • Manage digital marketing strategies.Maintain in-depth knowledge of the Energy Marketer
  • Marketing Associate, and self-retail programs
  • Monitor customer acquisition cost (CAC)
  • Improve conversion rates throughout the sales funnel
  • Align marketing activities with sales objectives

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with executive leadership to align commercial initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Finance, or related field.
  • 10–15+ years of sales leadership experience
  • Strong background in Telecom/energy/subscription models, Pricing Strategy, Channel sales, Competitive markets
  • Experience leading teams and external vendors
  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Compensation:

Base Salary: $150,000 - $220,000

Bonus: Up to 100% (highly performance-based)
