About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Research and Development to spearhead its innovation strategy and manage the end-to-end process of new product development. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the R&D team in creating and refining product formulations, packaging solutions, and customer co-creation programs, all while ensuring alignment with consumer trends, brand growth goals, and operational feasibility. This role demands a leader with a strong background in food science and product development, particularly in the areas of nutrition, ingredients, and functional foods, and a proven track record of leading innovation in a high-growth startup environment.

Applicants for the VP of R&D position at the company should hold a relevant college degree, with an advanced degree being preferred, and have at least 15 years' experience in food and beverage R&D, specifically within dynamic, high-growth startup settings. The role requires an individual who is extremely innovative, data-driven, and adept at turning consumer insights into marketable products. The VP will also be tasked with staying abreast of industry regulations and leading the commercialization of new products.

A strategic, hands-on leader with a passion for prototyping and building, as well as experience in team mentorship and collaboration, is ideal for this position. Familiarity with co-manufacturing, in-house production, and pilot plant environments is also a key requirement.
