Job Title: Underwriting Manager (Medical & Life)

We’ve partnered with a well-established and expanding insurer who are seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager (Medical) to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a team of three and contribute to an exciting underwriting project within a growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a small team of medical/life underwriters
• Oversee medical underwriting decisions, referrals and case management
• Ensure consistent underwriting standards and service delivery
• Support the development and improvement of underwriting processes
• Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to the successful delivery of an exciting business project

Key Skills

• Proven experience in medical underwriting, ideally within life insurance
• Previous team leadership or management experience
• Strong technical underwriting judgement
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a growing environment
• Relevant underwriting qualification or equivalent experience advantageous
