Truck Driver Trainer

Overview

Highway Truck Training is a locally owned and operated RTO specialising in Heavy Vehicle Truck Driver Training. Training is provided in our fleet of vehicles with hands-on experience. Training is offered six days a week on-site, one-on-one with an experienced Heavy Vehicle Trainer/Assessor to deliver high-quality training and provide feedback to students, clients, and team members.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted HR, HC or MC WA licence
• Certification as a Qualified Instructor with the Department of Transport (valid Blue Book)
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent desirable); otherwise willing to enroll in the required qualification
• At least 3–5 years of truck driving experience

Responsibilities

• Understand and train students in synchromesh, auto and road ranger gearboxes
• Train and evaluate student performance during the training block
• Assist students in completing necessary assessments related to course unit requirements, if required
• Complete practical assessments of all students as required by the RTO
• Adhere to all RTO compliance requirements, policies, and procedures
• Provide feedback and guidance to students to help them improve driving abilities
• Maintain clear and effective communication, professionalism, reliability, and punctuality
