- Location: Brampton, ON L6T 4Z9
- Salary: $36.50 to $38.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 35 to 40 hours per week
- Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time
- Education requirement: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience
1 year to less than 2 years
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
Responsibilities
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
- Maintain professionalism in customer service.
- Load and unload goods.
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs.
- Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
- Tarp and secure cargo to ensure safety and security.
Credentials
- AZ class license.
Documentation Knowledge
- Accident or incident reports.
- Bill of lading.
- Inspection reports (pre‑trip, en‑route, post‑trip).
- Maintenance and repair reports.
- Trip reports.
Equipment & Technology
- Extended length tractor‑trailer combination.
- Tractor‑trailer.
- Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
Transportation / Travel Experience
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willing to travel overnight.
