  • Location: Brampton, ON L6T 4Z9
  • Salary: $36.50 to $38.00 hourly (To be negotiated) / 35 to 40 hours per week
  • Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time
  • Education requirement: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience

1 year to less than 2 years

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.
  • Maintain professionalism in customer service.
  • Load and unload goods.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Perform pre‑trip, en‑route, and post‑trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance.
  • Perform preventive maintenance.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption.
  • Tarp and secure cargo to ensure safety and security.

Credentials

  • AZ class license.

Documentation Knowledge

  • Accident or incident reports.
  • Bill of lading.
  • Inspection reports (pre‑trip, en‑route, post‑trip).
  • Maintenance and repair reports.
  • Trip reports.

Equipment & Technology

  • Extended length tractor‑trailer combination.
  • Tractor‑trailer.
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.

Transportation / Travel Experience

  • Valid driver's licence.
  • Willing to travel overnight.
