Mattys Fermoyle's Water Cartage Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable and experienced Water Truck Driver to join our team on a casual basis. Based in Hervey Bay, QLD, this role is integral to our operations in the road transport sector, specifically water cartage services. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting water to various locations, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

This is a hands-on position that plays a crucial role in serving our customers and maintaining our reputation for reliable service.

Key responsibilities

Operating and maintaining heavy vehicles in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies

Transporting water to designated locations within agreed timeframes

Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe working condition

Loading and unloading cargo safely, following proper procedures and using appropriate equipment where necessary

Maintaining accurate records of deliveries, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance

Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise

Adhering to weight limits, traffic regulations, and all relevant legislation governing commercial vehicle operation

Performing basic vehicle maintenance tasks and reporting any mechanical issues promptly

Ensuring cargo is secured properly and transported in compliance with environmental and safety standards

What we're looking for

Current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence appropriate for operating water cartage vehicles

Proven experience as a Truck Driver in road transport, preferably in water cartage or similar haulage operations

Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle safety regulations, road rules, and transport legislation

Excellent driving record with a commitment to safe driving practices and accident prevention

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules

Physical fitness and capability to perform loading and unloading tasks

Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to adapt to varying work schedules on a casual basis

Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records

Willingness to undertake relevant training or certifications as required by the company
