The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods between production sites located in Yatala QLD, as well as coordinating material movement in support of production operations. When not on driving duties, the Truck Driver will work closely with the Production Manager and Supervisors to ensure materials are delivered in alignment with production schedules. This role also involves assisting with inventory management, maintaining delivery logs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as GMP and road safety regulations.
A Forklift and Light Rigid (LR) truck driver's licence is required for this position(Manual Track).
Key Objectives
The main goals of this role are to ensure:
- Timely and safe transportation of pharmaceutical products between plant sites while complying with all safety and regulatory standards.
- All GMP and road safety standards are adhered to during transportation activities.
- Material handling and delivery processes support efficient production with no delays due to material shortages or logistics issues.
- Vehicle maintenance is conducted regularly, ensuring the truck is in optimal working condition to prevent breakdowns.
- Continuous improvement opportunities in transportation and material coordination are identified and implemented to enhance efficiency.
Position Responsibilities
Safely transport pharmaceutical products between production facilities, ensuring compliance with all regulations, including temperature control and proper handling.
A minimum of 1-2 years of truck driving experience is required.
Plan and execute efficient delivery routes, meeting all deadlines and reducing delays.
Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, vehicle inspections, and any other transport-related activities.
Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition at all times.
Load and unload materials safely, using proper equipment when needed.
Collaborate with the production and warehouse teams to ensure seamless material movement, preventing production line stoppages.
When not driving, assist in material coordination, helping to prioritise materials based on production needs.
Maintain clear communication with the logistics team and production management to provide delivery updates and report any issues encountered during transport.
Respond to unexpected issues such as road hazards, delays, or vehicle malfunctions, and elevate to the Production Supervisors / Manager if needed.
Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE when handling sensitive products.
Support the inventory management process by ensuring timely delivery of materials and finished products.
Assist with maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of loading areas and ensuring compliance with company safety standards.
