Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Skilled Nursing & Rehab (SNF) position at a long-term care facility in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an IL RN license in hand. Job Details • Skilled nursing and rehabilitation units within a long-term care (LTC) facility, operating similarly to a Med/Surg environment, • Patient population includes residents requiring specialized medical and rehabilitation care, including those with dementia and post-surgical needs, • Patient ratio of up to 20 residents per nurse with an average daily census of 72, • Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, • Every other weekend rotation required upon the facility's request, • No on-call requirements, • Epic EMR - experience required, • Procedures include IV medication administration and wound care, Job Requirements • Active IL RN license required and must be in hand prior to consideration, • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and IV Certification (must be obtained prior to start), • Strong Med/Surg and acute care background is helpful but not required, • Dementia care training or experience is highly recommended, • Proficiency with Epic EMR required, Additional Information • Provides primary care, IV medication administration, and wound care to dementia and post-surgical residents, • Works closely with CNAs and HCAs as part of the care team, • Scrub color: any shade of blue, • Free parking available on site, • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility - local candidates are not accepted, • Travelers must live outside the 75-mile radius; standard travelers may remain for up to 18 months before a 3-month break in service is required, • Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler, • RTO must be submitted at the time of submission - no RTO requests will be approved after an offer is made; no more than 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO during the first week of orientation, • Cannot take every holiday off - some holiday coverage is expected, • Call-outs must be communicated with more than 24 hours of advance notice, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
