Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with trauma experience for a night shift position at a Level 2 trauma center serving an infant-to-geriatric patient population. Job Details • Level 2 trauma center that is also interventional stroke certified and home to a Level 3 NICU that serves as the regional transport resource, • Patient population spans infants to geriatrics, with primary focus on adult RRT and additional work with pediatric intubated patients, • Scope of practice includes non-invasive and conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests (spirometry), arterial line placement, ABG and capillary blood gas collection, draws from lines, oxygen management, and patient education, • EMR: Epic; additional systems include Pyxis, SBAR, Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viasys Avea, • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30-07:00), • Every other weekend required, • Floating required within the facility and to a sister campus as needed, • No on-call requirements, Job Requirements • Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience, • Trauma experience required, • Pulmonary function testing (spirometry) experience preferred, • Active Georgia RRT license required if applicable, • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, • Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration, • Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration, Additional Information • First-time travelers are accepted for this position, • Slate gray scrubs required, • RTO maximum is 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment, • Holiday coverage is expected: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO allowed; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work two, with one holiday RTO request eligible for review, • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (each paired holiday counts as one), • No scheduling changes or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted night shift is firm, • Local candidates are accepted for this position, • Travelers must have been away from all system facilities for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
