Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Cornelius, NC Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,913 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 3/23/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Cornelius, North Carolina, 28031! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years in Progressive Care Unit License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - General nursing skills including IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, and drains. - Comfortable performing lab draws, including blood draws. - Experience with titrating drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, heparin, and insulin. - EPIC experience required. Description: This is a new unit opening soon.
It will initially operate at 50% capacity and expand over time. The unit has 33 beds and does not hold trauma designation. It is not a teaching hospital and is not currently stroke accredited.
The unit primarily serves adult patients with medical-based diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, and more. Patient ratios are 1 nurse to 4 patients. Support within the department includes 3 nursing assistants and a charge nurse.
There is no phlebotomy on site, so nurses must be comfortable with monitoring their own patients and performing their own lab draws. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7, as well as Hospitalist coverage at night. Anesthesia services are available round-the-clock for intubations.
Traveling nurses will have the first option to float within the scope of practice as needed across various facilities. If floating mid-shift, travelers will be compensated for travel time. Weekend rotation will require 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule.
Holiday expectations include working 75% of holidays as outlined in the contract. Self-scheduling will be available with manager approval. Scrub colors required are navy blue.
