Registered Nurse (RN) | Labor & Delivery Location: Lamar, CO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,938 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 4/1/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Labor/Delivery RN in Lamar, Colorado, 81052! Job Title: Obstetrics RN, Labor and Delivery Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Obstetrics RN, Labor and Delivery Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00am - 7:00pm Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 7 years License: Current RN licensure Certifications: Current CPR certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS within one year of employment Must-Have: - Knowledge of or interest in learning labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursing care essentials - Principles of sterile technique and infection control - Skilled in technical aspects of mother/infant care - Ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations - Good communication skills Description: The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the scope of their practice. This position involves providing direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, and postpartum, as well as providing direct care to the newborn.
The RN ensures all aspects of maternal childcare. Responsibilities include performing assessments and monitoring the process of labor. The RN prepares for C-sections, inductions, and proper documentation of nursing care.
Administering care during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum is required, including infant care and providing patient education. The RN prepares the delivery room, provides emotional support, and coordinates transfers. IV medications are administered while adhering to the principles of infection control and general policies of the department.
Knowledge and/or interest in obstetrics and equipment is important. The RN reports directly to the Birth Center Manager. Special demands of the role include long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting.
Exposure to blood and body fluids, unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible.
