Responsibility
The Trainee Topside Maintenance Technician supports the maintenance team in carrying out day-to-day maintenance activities onboard in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner.
The trainee will assist experienced technicians in maintaining top-side and engine room mechanical equipment while gaining practical offshore experience and technical competency.
The trainee will work under supervision in areas including the topside process area, main deck, utility systems, engine room support areas, and accommodation related mechanical systems.
Duties
- Assist Topside Maintenance technicians in performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Support maintenance activities involving pumps, valves, compressors, piping systems, cranes, hoses, and rotating equipment.
- Learn and follow Permit to Work (PTW) procedures and company safety regulations.
- Assist in equipment inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and routine operational checks.
- Help maintain housekeeping standards in workshops and operational areas.
- Assist in maintenance of export hose systems and mooring equipment.
- Support equipment troubleshooting activities under supervision.
- Participate in emergency drills and carry out assigned emergency response duties.
- Ensure tools, spare parts, and maintenance equipment are properly handled and stored.
- Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, or incidents to supervisors immediately.
- Participate in training programs and competency development activities onboard.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors in accordance with company procedures.
HSSE Responsibility
- Work in compliance with all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) procedures.
- Always maintain a high level of safety awareness.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow the company “Stop Work Authority” policy when unsafe conditions are observed.
- Contribute to a safe and environmentally responsible working culture onboard.
- Attend safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training sessions.
