Job Description

Role & responsibilities

  • erform MIG/MAG and TIG welding on steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and other metals as required.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, dimensions, and job specifications.
  • Prepare, fit, align, and tack components before welding.
  • Set up welding machines, select appropriate parameters, and use correct consumables.
  • Carry out fillet, butt, and other required weld joints in different welding positions.
  • Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, penetration, appearance, and defects.
  • Perform grinding, cleaning, cutting, and finishing of welded components.
  • Identify and rectify welding defects such as porosity, cracks, undercut, and lack of fusion.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and consumables in good working condition.
  • Follow approved welding procedures and required quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment and follow all HSE/PPE requirements.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience: 35+ years of relevant MIG/TIG welding experience.
  • Experience in fabrication, engineering, manufacturing, structural steel, pipework, or industrial projects preferred.
  • Candidates experienced in stainless steel, carbon/mild steel, and aluminium will have an advantage.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and welding symbols.
  • Welding certification such as ISO 9606 or equivalent is highly preferred where required by the employer.
  • Candidates with UK/Ireland/GCC/European welding experience may be preferred.
  • ITI/Diploma in Welding/Fabrication/Mechanical trade is preferred but strong practical experience can also be considered.
  • Must be physically fit and comfortable working in workshop, fabrication, or industrial environments.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent weld quality.
