Therapy Lead
Priory
Job Description
Description
Priory
Horizon House is looking to recruit a Therapy Lead to join and lead
our new team of Therapists within our pioneering therapy-led
addiction programme.
This is a new location
opening as part of our existing service – offering bespoke
treatment for a wide range of addictions in a calm, homely
environment. Set within a supportive community, Horizon House will
provide a safe haven away from the stresses of daily life, forming
part of our wider network of residential addiction treatment homes
across the UK.
Delivered by qualified therapists in a non-medical setting, Flourish offers an alternative to traditional hospital-based treatment. It’s ideal for people who don’t need a medical detox or ongoing medical care but would benefit from structured therapy, community connection, and practical tools to achieve meaningful, sustainable recovery.
What you'll be doing
You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, and undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate patients' wellbeing, dignity, and treatment.
- Leading and supporting a diverse range of therapy staff, including psychology, therapy, and any other specialisms that fall within the team’s therapy needs.
- Facilitating regular management supervision with individuals in line with Priory policy, using a cascade system with other qualified therapists
- An agreed reduced level of patient facing clinical hours to create line management responsibility, as agreed with the Private Business and Therapy Manager.
- Be available for any clinical issues the team may need, for example managing risk, responding to complex patient needs, supporting individual cases with a wider MDT as necessary.
You can find additional information in the attached job description.
What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding
but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the
same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through
both the highs and lows.
The ideal candidate
will be a registered healthcare professional with the Health and
Care Professions Council (HCPC) or an accredited psychotherapist
with British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP),
British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies
(BABCP), or UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
They will bring
strong leadership capabilities to support and guide a diverse
therapy team.
The
successful candidate must have substantial experience in addiction
services and a strong understanding of therapeutic roles in mental
health settings. They should demonstrate proven experience in
providing managerial supervision, the ability to remain calm and
effective in challenging or high-pressure situations, and excellent
interpersonal and decision-making skills. Experience working in a
commercial environment, with an awareness of cost management and
the flexibility to adapt to evolving organisational and business
needs, is also essential.
