Are you currently working in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) field? Vantage Technology Consulting Group is seeking candidates for a full-time Technology Systems Engineer position to join our Design and Engineering team. As a Technology Systems Engineer, you will be part of a team that brings our clients’ technology requirements and visions to life.

We are looking for an applicant who is experienced with low-voltage technology systems, including one or all of the following: Information Technology (IT): Technology room, risers, wired and wireless infrastructure, and unified communication systems. Structured Cabling Solution: Design of horizontal and backbone cabling systems for voice, data, and network services in alignment with industry standards. Healthcare Systems: Low-voltage systems specific to healthcare environments, including nurse call, real-time location systems (RTLS), telemetry, and clinical communication infrastructure.

What You Will Do As a Technology Systems Engineer at Vantage, you will be responsible for working on projects and supporting project teams to integrated technology designs for higher education, commercial, and healthcare projects. Under the direction of a project team leader, and working side-by-side with our project managers, architects, and client stakeholders as required, you will: Work as part of the Vantage team in translating user requirements into coordinated technology drawings and specifications. Assist with the design of audiovisual, structured cabling, and physical security systems for construction-related packages.

Assist with the preparation of basis‑of‑design narratives, riser diagrams, one‑line diagrams, cost estimates, and other deliverables that support the overall design package. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems through design, and is excited to grow with a firm that’s shaping the future of how people interact with technology in the built environment. The ideal candidate is experienced, self-motivated, and thrives in a remote work environment. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed in this role: Basic Qualifications Three or more years of hands‑on experience designing or installing IT, AV, and security systems for new construction and renovation projects through standard AIA design phase processes (SD, DD, CD, CA) Ability to interpret architectural drawings/specifications, models, and construction documents. Familiar with major technology system manufacturer’s product lines and industry‑preferred solutions.

Demonstrated success working in remote, multi‑disciplinary teams, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, client‑ready documents. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing technology systems for higher education, commercial, and healthcare facilities.

Knowledge of construction industry practices, including typical deliverables for design development through construction documentation. Experience with software such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or Revit. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in drafting, design, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
